surprisingly, i understood your gibberish

Life as an English teacher is quite fun. The kids are a good lot but when they are all hyper and excited, it's quite tiring. I was like "Sheesh, calm down people. No shouting matches or headlockings or maiming friends with stapler in my class please!"

By the way, some of them have taken a liking to me. And they're mostly boys. Vying for my attention in class, went out of the way to help me carry books, telling iloveuteacher in the middle of corridors... It's flattering, hun but major awkward okay? And I'm still resisting offers of lunch dates with them. Maybe, just maybe I'll cave in during the last week on the job.

I'm still getting used to the antics and hormones of 18 yr-olds. *sweatdrops*

the adventures of rerama-sensei

took up a temp teaching post in klang. i'm currently teaching MUET prep classes for lower sixth form. my kids are cheeky but i think i know how to handle them and at least they listen when i talk (thank god). although their apparent lack of english skills is a bit shocking at first. how bad can an 18-yrs old's english skills be, you ask?

class: miss rerama, how to know more english words?
rerama: first of all, don't be lazy to look up the thesaurus.
class: what teacher? you said tyranosaurus?
rerama: err....have you ever used thesaurus before?
class: (.........) can you spell that?

the first week on the job, and i would like to apologize to all my high school teachers if i've ever contributed to their high blood pressures and ulcers before.

token of friendship

bracelets are my favourite collectibles.

this is the oldest i have. it's made of wood beads and threads. me and Dee, we bought four identical bracelets for both of us, Honey and Z in 2003. 6 years (!!)

looking back, why did we buy it? i think it was Dee who suggested buying something as a token of friendship between four of us. i vaguely remember being the one to choose this particular design. where did we bought it again? ah! a stall that sells body accessories during convo fest.

i wonder if they still have it. i saw Dee wore hers before. seldom, but she still has it. i think Honey might have lost hers (i don't have faith in you, dear. sorry. (>_<) ) maybe when i see them again i should ask about it.

Z? with the fight we had between us, maybe not. it is sad to see a person you love ignores you. and in the end, she hurt herself by pushing us away. what can i say then? i told you so? yes, people. being a good friend is hazardous to friendships too.

what am i doing remembering old times? i suddenly feel old. it's the bracelet's fault! LOL. (^_^)
